General Budget Support and SISTAFE
The Budget Support Program is one instrument which supports the implementation of Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (PARPA) by the Government of Mozambique. Currently 19 donors participate, including all major bilateral donors, the EC and the WB and ADB. Belgium has been providing budget support since 2004. Between 2004 and 2007 a total of Euro 11,5m budget support was provided.
Belgium also supports the Public Finance Management Reform Process in Mozambique via the SISTAFE Common Fund (SISTAFE is the Portuguese acronym for ‘State Financial Administration System’). The SISTAFE Common Fund pools the funding of six donors (Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, UK, and EC) and the GoM.
