Microprojects/MIPS

The MICROPROJECTS or MIPS - programme of the Belgian Cooperation aims to contribute to projects for the consolidation of civil society through interventions that have a clear impact on the lives of the target-group and bring tangible and sustainable results. The MIP-programme is a crucial element to ensure visibility of the Belgian Cooperation by tackling social, cultural and poverty issues from the base throughout Maputo and other places of intervention.

The range of MIPS implemented since 2005 shows that prevailing sectors of intervention have been agriculture, education, art &culture and water & sanitation. The main cross-cutting issues in these projects are vocational training, gender, children and HIV/AIDS. The types of partners implementing the MIPS range from local and international NGO's to farmers associations, art groups & schools, journalist associations and even local authorities.

The maximum financial support per project is 10 to 12.000 EUROS. The requesting organisation must be recognised and registered by the Government of Mozambique and must have a bank account.
